Northern Ireland
In
Northern Ireland, 80:20 works directly with young people and adults
from all backgrounds and traditions, to tackle the legacy of the conflict.
In the past few years, 80:20 has, for example:
- Replaced paramilitary wall murals with human rights focused murals
– all developed and painted by young people
- Produced educational resource materials for use throughout Ireland
analysing the nature and causes of the conflict
- Designed and supported a programme to support people in discovering
and exploring their many identities beyond those they inherit via the
‘Troubles’
- Designed and delivered a human Rights curriculum for use in schools
- Explored issues of race and identity and redesigned the ‘Union
Jack’ in the process
Some of our key project partners in Northern Ireland include,
for example:
- - Creative Youth Partnership
- - The Belfast Education and library Board
- - The Ulster Museum
- - Alternatives
- - Orangefield High School, Belfast
- - St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Belfast
