Ireland
In Ireland, we design and deliver educational projects on a variety
of issues such as:
- Youth and Citizenship
- The Conflict in Northern Ireland and its legacy
- Human Rights in Ireland and Internationally
- The Millennium Development Goals
- Genocide
- Women’s Rights and the Convention for the Elimination of
Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)
- Identities and Interculturalism
Recently, for example, we have:
· Produced the best-selling educational resource 80:20 Development
in an Unequal World – now used extensively in South Africa, Australia,
Zambia, the UK and, of course, Ireland
· Organised and supported young people in delivering workshops
on a range of issues such as genocide, the arms trade, women’s
rights, HIV and AIDS, the MDGs etc.
· Supported a project on young people and the 2004 European
and Local council Elections – the 321 Project
· Supported individual schools who have organised study visits
to Cameroon and to Ghana
· Supported networks of schools in addressing topics such as
Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation
· Worked in partnership with others to develop and support the
internet site www.developmenteducation.ie
